At Shine, we recognise that Waste Management Services are not only expensive but, if you organise your own waste, it can be time consuming. If your waste contractor lets you down you are then left to deal with this. However at Shine, not only can we organise your site waste management so that it is cost effective, but it is fully managed by us so if there ever is a problem, we will deal with it on your behalf. In addition we can provide information and training for staff, site waste audits to ensure compliance and for all our customers we can generate reports which show how much waste you are recycling which can help you achieve and improve on your environmental targets.

We work in close partnership with a leading UK Environmental & Waste Management Service Provider to offer cost-effective, bespoke waste management services for all our customers. We can undertake an initial site waste audit and we can implement simple, internal and external waste solutions that meet the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2014 to ensure that your business meets it's legislative requirements.

Did you know?

• Every Scottish business has a legal duty to provide adequate waste management, including taking reasonable steps to separate, at source. This includes dry mixed recyclates (DMR) such as plastic, glass, metal, paper and card.
• Businesses who produce more than 5kg food waste per week (ie this is approximately a shopping bag full) are also required to provide a separate food collection. So if your staff bring in food for lunch; or you have meetings which involve sandwiches; even your teabags and coffee grinds, these all contribute to the 5kg per week requirement.
• The penalties for not complying with the legislation are harsh, up to £10,000.
