Environmental

  • We use eco-friendly chemicals that don’t compromise on quality or hygiene standards.
  • Our Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle Approach ensures recycling and waste reduction, avoiding too much waste going to landfill and being careful with water and energy usage.
  • Change begins at home and therefore Shine’s commitment extends to our workplace. We have been committed to creating savings in energy, transport and water, making changes like installing air source heat pumps in our office, using an energy supplier who uses 100% renewable energy, changing to hybrid vehicles, reducing our office waste and increasing recycling across our operations where possible. In the last 24 months, we have upgraded our lighting to LED and motion sensor to save on energy; consciously changed to more environmentally friendly vehicles; changed to app or cloud based technology; and we plan to transition fully to e-signature software for documents.

Social

  • Supporting Local Communities. We are proud to support local causes and community groups. This includes sponsoring team strips for a local youth football team, donating to a West Lothian elderly day centre and customer charities, and providing essential supplies to a local hospital and a regional Women’s Aid refuge during the COVID-19 pandemic

Governance

  • We are working towards ensuring all cleaning staff are paid the Living Wage by 2026. Achieving this depends on the support of our customers, who we hope recognise our staff as a valuable asset to their business.
